The purpose of The Independent Press is quite clear.

It is our intention to provide writers of quality with the best outlets possible for their work; to encourage the reading of good books among as many individuals as possible; and to contribute to the Art of Literature and its appreciation both far and wide.

In this way, the purpose of The Independent Press is promotional, social, aesthetic, and financial.

Our pledge to the writers we publish is the promise of cooperation and mutual benefit. Our pledge to the readers of our books is the promise of good work, or, to put it another way, writing worth reading.

The Independent Press is a small press. We publish a little poetry and prose, including novels, short stories and non-fiction. Work of Canadian or Caribbean origin interests us most.

Currently, our publishing schedule is full.
